The potential of activated carbon ETAC and Polymer Composites (PAC and PPC) for the removal coloring matter from industrial effluents were analyzed. All the three adsorbents were prepared from the precursor Euphorbia Tirucalli L wood. After the treatment there was significant decrease in pH, Hardness, TDS, DO, BOD and COD of industrial effluents. Among eight samples studied, after the treatment almost all samples were colorless except sample 4 for ETAC, sample 7 and 8 for polymer composites. Cost analysis for the preparation of adsorbents and treatment of effluents were carried out. The cost for treatment of effluents with ETAC and Polyaniline Composite are more economical than commercial charcoal. Keywords
